CAC Landskrona is proud to present an exhibition with Miltos Manetas.

In the 1990’s Greek-born Miltos Manetas was categorized as one of the artists within the field of Relational Aesthetics and he was also included in Nicolas Bourriaud’s book with the same name. However, by 1996 Manetas abandoned performance and actions to explore the possibilities of working with the internet and computer games as medium. With his work Manetas was to become one of the pioneers within these new fields of art. At CAC Landskrona five of Manetas classic internet projects will be presented. The exhibition was previously shown in our Slovene facilities CAC Bukovje and for that occasion a small catalogue was produced. A digital version is available HERE.

Manetas himself about the exhibition in Bukovje: "Now, from all the shows I ever did, the one that I personally enjoyed the most, was the one you did, where stuff of mine were hosted at the place and the electronics of average people... I felt that this was the beginning of my (very personal) "Retrospective"."

Miltos Manetas has had an extensive international career and he has had solo exhibitions at both Gagosian Gallery and Yvon Lambert Gallery in New York, and he has also exhibited at for example Palais De Tokyo, Paris and the 2nd Prague Biennial. He was also the initiator of the Internet Pavillion for the 53rd Venice Biennial together with Jan Åman, a project that he is realising for the fourth time for this year's biennial.

CAC Landskrona presenterar stolt en utställning med Miltos Manetas.
 
Under 90-talet räknades Miltos Manetas (1964 Grekland) bland konstnärerna som arbetade inom den så kallade relationella estetiken och han inkluderades i Nicolas Bourriauds bok på samma tema. 1996 övergav Manetas emellertid de performativa aktionerna för att utforska internet som medium och hans verk på området kom att bli banbrytande för den digitala konsten. Hos CAC Landskrona kommer fem av Manetas klassiska Internetprojekt visas. En tidigare version av utställningen visades på CAC Bukovje i Slovenien 2011 och till denna utställning producerades en mindre katalog. En digital version av katalogen finns HÄR.

Miltos Manetas har haft en omfattande internationell karriär och han har gjort separatutställningar på både Gagosian Gallery och Yvon Lambert Gallery i New York, och han har ställt ut på exempelvis Palais De Tokyo i Paris och på den  andra Pragbiennalen. Tillsammans med Jan Åman grundade han Internet-paviljongen till den 53:de Venedigbiennalen ett projekt som nu realiseras för den fjärde gången under årets Venedigbiennal.
